So as you guys probably know by now, currently we offer a reward (normally a Bond) to those who compete in the Bimonthly Skilling competitions. Originally we'd discussed that it is probably best to allocate it randomly to the top 5, as opposed to simply giving to the winner, as we believed those capable of winning skilling competitions (especially buyables) are much less likely to need the money than those who are not.
I've had some thought regarding this and still believe it to be somewhat unfair. Ideally I would like the Bond to go to someone who needs it. Someone who not only deserves it, but who will benefit greatly from obtaining it.
Therefore I've decided that we will be incorporating the following new idea into the clan, in addition to the Skilling competition rewards.
Random Acts Of Good Will
Essentially what this is at any time, any day you may receive a "gift" in good faith from either me or Bad Skiller. This could be for a number of reasons.. You may have skilling goals that can be more easily achieved with a helping hand, you might have had a rough week and need a pick me up or it may just be for your commitment and presence within the clan. Regardless of what it is, there will be a reason. I believe this is the most effective way of helping fellow clan members.
I would like to stress that the reasons are not bound to those above and that players will be picked as fairly as we possibly can.
Hopefully you guys agree that this is one of the fairest ways of getting bonds out to those who deserve it most.
Your Contribution
I believe giving is one of the best things you can do for someone, therefore I believe it should not just be restricted to us Mods. If you have some spare change lying around in your bank and you notice someone in the clan could benefit from a donation/some help or something I would ask if you can to help them out. I'm hoping this idea will bring a nicer atmosphere and will benefit everybody. Whether we like to admit it or not, this game takes a lot of time out of daily lives, and so the well being and liveliness of the clan is important. So lets do all we can to help others eh?
